Yujo Network is a Gandoorese social networking service that enables users to add and chat with friends, post pictures and videos, and post status updates. The website is regarded as the most popular social networking site in Gandoor and is notable for only allowing users with an email address from the Gandoor Internet Service Corporation, the only ISP available in Gandoor, to register an account, effectively locking membership to citizens of Gandoor.

History

Yujo Network launched on 9 February 2007, in a private invite-only beta test. The first two registered accounts belonged to Jeffrey Allens and Yusuke Shioya, who founded the website together. During the period of the private beta testing, users could only get access to the website by being invited by someone else who already had an account, with a limit of 100 new accounts created per day.

The website switched to public beta six months later, in July 2007, and increased the new account per day limit to 1000. Due to the rapid userbase growth, the limit would ultimately be removed after three weeks.

During the early days of Yujo Network, the features available to users were limited: users were limited to adding 150 friends, posting text-based status updates, and uploading a profile picture. The ability to post photos was added in an update in April 2008, shortly after Yujo Network officially exited beta testing.

Originally only available in English, Japanese and Russian language options were added in 2009, followed by Korean in 2015.

The largest update to Yujo Network occurred in June 2010. The update, referred to as 'The Biggest Update EVER', increased the friend limit to 1000 (up from the then-limit of 300), added the ability to upload videos, and added the ability to follow other users, which enables one to see another's status updates, photos, and videos without having it count towards their friend limit.

In 2018, YujoBlogs was introduced. YujoBlogs, as the name implies, is an optional blogging service operated on Yujo Network. It enables users to create more 'blog-like' posts compared to ordinary status updates. Unlike everything else on the website, which are viewable to registered users only, users can select to make their YujoBlogs private, which means that only registered and logged-in users may view it, or public, enabling anyone, including people from outside of Gandoor, the ability to view it. This feature makes YujoBlogs the only part of Yujo Network that can be officially viewed by people outside of Gandoor.
