The Gandoor Communist Party (Japanese: ガンドア共産党 Gandoa Kyōsantō, Russian: Гандур Коммунистическая Партия Gandur Kommunisticheskaya Partiya) is a democratic socialist political party in Gandoor. They are considered to be the party that created modern Gandoor as the Gandoor Revolution was spearheaded and lead by the party. Despite the name, they ceased being an actual communist party by 1931 and the last remnants of communism, other than the name, were removed from official party documents in 1963. The Gandoor Communist Party has been led by Park Sang-Hee since 2022, also Prime Minister of Gandoor since 2024, who was elected following the resignation of Lucy Kobayashi from the position.

History

The Gandoor Communist Party was originally founded in 1881 and was an anti-monarchist party that advocated violent revolution against the monarchy and the establishment of a communist society. It was due to this that the party was often considered 'a major threat' by royal authorities and was threatened with being outlawed several times throughout the years.

In 1885, Chiba Masato would join the Communist Party and would become the leader of the party in 1892. It was due to Masato's influence that the party would begin to advocate for a peaceful revolution against the monarchy, as well as working with the New Democratic Party, a party that previous party leaders considered to be a 'party of the bourgeoisie', to establish a republican system of government in Gandoor.

During the era of Prime Minister Robert S. Stevenson from 1910 to 1940, the party began to move away from its original goal of working towards the establishment of a communist society in Gandoor and towards a new goal of working towards the establishment of a democratic socialist society in Gandoor.

The Communist Party would dominate Gandoorese politics following the era of Alexei Petrikov, Prime Minister from 1940 to 1951, and would control the office of Prime Minister without interruption until the 1976 election of Reginald D. McFatton, Sr.. Their height of success during this era would be the 1958 National Elections, which saw the Communist Party winning 838 seats against the New Democratic Party's 162.

The Gandoor Communist Party continues to be regarded as the dominant political party in Gandoor and, since the end of their complete domination in national Gandoorese politics in 1976, have held the office of Prime Minister for thirty years, compared to the New Democratic Party holding it for eighteen. The most recent Prime Minister from the party is Park Sang-Hee, who has been in office since 2024.

New Communist Wing

The New Communists, also called the Miyamoto Communists, is a wing of the Gandoor Communist Party originated during the era of Prime Minister Rebecca Miyamoto, who was in office from 1982 to 1994. They are responsible for many of the economic liberalization policies which resulted in Gandoorese economic growth during the 1980s and beyond. While they do not have complete dominance over the party, they are still influential and both Prime Ministers Rebecca Miyamoto and Reginald D. Mcfatton, Jr. have been members of the New Communist wing.

The New Communists are often considered to be more social democratic in their views, although they do still share the belief that the Communist Party should work towards the eventual replacement of capitalism with socialism in Gandoor with the rest of their party.
