The Socialist Workers' Party was a communist party and revolutionary organization active in Gandoor between 1952 and 1993. Founded by Peter Naismith, who also served as Chairman of the Socialist Workers' Party until the party dissolution, the party was known for its militant wing, the New Revolutionary Army, which engaged in a guerrilla war against the state.

While the Socialist Workers' Party itself never faced any legal consequences and remained a legally recognized political party throughout its existence, the New Revolutionary Army was designated as a terrorist organization by the Government of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor in 1968.

During the premiership of Rebecca Miyamoto in the 1980s and early 1990s, negotiations were held between the Government and the New Revolutionary Army; ultimately resulting in an ending of the NRA's guerrilla war in 1988, with the NRA officially being dissolved by the Socialist Workers' Party in 1990.

During the thirty-six years of the NRA's guerrilla war against the state, over 3800 people lost their lives.

In 1993, due to a combination of declining membership and disillusionment because of the end of the Cold War, Peter Naismith officially dissolved the Socialist Workers' Party.
